Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some of the questions our customers most frequently ask about our machining, welding, repairs and prototyping services, capabilities, and process. If you don’t see your question here or would like more information, please contact us. We’re here to help!
HOW DO I REQUEST A QUOTE?
We’ve designed our quotation process to be as simple, straightforward, and hassle free as possible. Simply call us or send us an email, our contact page gives you all that information, too. We’ll ask you a few quick questions about turnaround time and quantity needed and give you a chance to briefly describe your project. We’ve also included a way to easily upload your drawing file.
CAN YOU HELP WITH THE DESIGN PROCESS?
Yes! Our team enjoys applying their production experience to new challenges. We can assist with designing your part, selecting the best raw materials, and choosing the most effective machining protocols and finishing steps. Keeping the part’s end use in mind, we can often find a minor design tweak or a change in material or tolerance that can reduce your part’s cost without any reduction in quality or performance.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU RUN IN YOUR MACHINE SHOP?
Our equipment capabilities include: CNC turning centers, CNC milling machines, high precision grinding machines, laser cutter and a number of machines, capable of handling multiple materials and bar stock sizes. We also have equipment dedicated to second operations and various finishing processes. What’s more, we have skilled and experienced machinists (some with more than 30 years in the business) who know how to use our equipment to produce your parts accurately, quickly, and cost effectively.
WHAT INDUSTRIES DO YOU TYPICALLY SERVE?
Our customers include heavy equipment manufacturers, general commercial businesses, and companies in the machine tool industries, among others. While our customers are spread throughout London, Ontario and other areas in Canada, they all have something in common: the need for high-quality parts machined to print, on time, and within budget.
CAN MY PARTS BE PRODUCED ON A RUSH IN YOUR MACHINE SHOP?
Including quoting, manufacturing, and shipping, our typical turnaround time for machine products is approximately three weeks, and our on-time delivery rate is over 95%. Depending on the circumstances (such as availability of tooling, gauges, and materials in the marketplace), we may be able to produce your parts on an expedited timeframe. Just ask!
CAN WE OUTSOURCE OUR PRODUCTION WITH YOUR MACHINE SHOP?
Yes, you can!.
You don’t need to buy your machines to increase your capability. You need to contact our Machine Shop and we’ll handle the rest.

WHAT MACHINING SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?
Our machining services focus on what we do best: producing precision machine parts using a range of technologies, including high precision turning and milling machines.
WHAT DOES A MACHINE SHOP DO?
The answer is varied, including creating prototype parts, high-volume production parts, and repairing existing parts.
Many machine shops are dedicated to providing services to companies and manufacturers, who provide them with detailed part design drawings. These shops then buy materials and build the parts, returning them to the manufacturer once the production run is complete.
A machine shop is a place to go if you have a specific need for a particular part or have a unique skill set robots.
Machine shops typically have heavy equipment and are ventilated. Some have room for finishing supplies, such as paints, and others have robots to perform certain tasks.
In short, a machine shop is a local partner that must be able to meet any requirement associated with the design and manufacture of metal parts for home and industry.
At V&C Machinery Machine Shop, we have the necessary equipment to carry out any small and medium-scale work. In addition, our professionals have the experience required to provide you with the best service and help you obtain the solution you need.
